Ganna Ki, a Ukrainian visual & performative artist, and Anna Jones, a Swedish American songwriter, actress, and singer, united to celebrate the enigmatic dance of the divine cosmic feminine, the unknown.
Ganna Ki created Beregynyas sculptures from locally sourced natural materials, including pine, grass, and moss. Setting them on fire, artist transformed them in a free spirit, igniting a prayer for protection and wellbeing of her Motherland Ukraine.
Beregynya, a Goddess and Supernatural Guardian Spirit deeply rooted in the ancient Ukrainian native faith, finds mention in pagan records dating back to the 14th-15th centuries in Ukraine. The ancient Ukrainians revered Beregynya as a Great Cosmic Mother, who created the world. Some Slavic scholars trace her origins to the word "shore," associating her with River Spirits and mermaids, while others regard her as the Spirit of the Forest, a Guardian Spirit of Nature, protector of homes and families.
